Perak civil servants to receive special payment of one month's salary

Perak civil servants will receive a special financial assistance of one month's salary or a minimum payment of RM2,000, to be paid by the end of this year.
In announcing the good news, Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu (photo, above) said the special payment would also be given to Orang Besar Jajahan.
Apart from that, the state government would also give special assistance of RM1,000 to untrained attachment teachers, daily part-timers, Perak Islamic Religious Department kindergarten teachers, imam, bilal, siak, village heads and tok batins.
“As an appreciation to retirees, the state government will also continue with the special incentive for them and has allocated RM2 million for that,” he said when tabling the state's 2020 budget at the state legislative assembly yesterday.

Ahmad Faizal said the state government also has allocated RM5 million as medical benefits for its civil servants who received treatment at the government hospitals and clinics.
Besides that, RM1 million was allocated to encourage the state's civil servants to further their studies, said Ahmad Faizal, adding that the state government also has set aside RM100,000 as an incentive to perform umrah for Muslim civil servants and overseas trips for non-Muslims.
“To ensure the comfort of civil servants in Muallim district, the state government has allocated RM20 million as the final payment for the completion of 100 units of new quarters,” he said.
He said the state's civil servants would also eligible for early redemption of accumulated leave or up to 75 days, as well as an additional RM50 in the cost of living allowance (Cola), beginning January 2020 for the support group, in line with the tabling of the federal government's budget on Oct 11.
He said for the purposes, the government has allocated RM6.1 million, of which RM1.9 million is for accumulated leave and the remaining RM4.2 million is for the increased Cola.
