STUPID OR NOT, ISMAIL SABRI PESTERS MAHATHIR TO CALL FOR FRESH ELECTIONS – BUT DID NAJIB AGREE TO SNAP GE WHEN UMNO-BN WAS UNDER PRESSURE OVER 1MDB THIEVERY? NO WONDER, ABANG JO & GPS WAIT & WATCH BEFORE DECIDING WHICH CAMP TO JOIN

GABUNGAN Parti Sarawak (GPS) components have no intention of rejoining Barisan Nasional despite the former ruling coalition’s massive win in the Tanjung Piai by-election yesterday.
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu vice-president Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the decision of four state-based parties, including his, to leave BN and set up GPS after the 14th general election last year was a wise one.
“When we were with BN, we couldn’t even talk about our successes. But now, we are free to, and they have to listen to us,” he told reporters in Kuching today.
He was asked about the possibility of GPS parties returning to BN after Wee Jeck Seng’s landslide victory in the six-way fight for Tg Piai.
The MCA man polled 25,466 votes to Pakatan Harapan rival Karmaine Sardini’s 10,380. Gerakan’s Wendy Subramaniam got 1,707 votes, Berjasa’s Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz (850), and independents Ang Chuan Lock (380) and Faridah Aryani Abdul Ghaffar (32).

Call fresh elections, Ismail Sabri tells Pakatan

THE government should dissolve Parliament and call fresh elections as it has lost the people’s confidence, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob a day after Pakatan Harapan’s thumping defeat in Tanjung Piai.
The opposition leader said the by-election was a referendum on the ruling pact, and its result showed that the people reject PH.
“If the government is truly sensitive towards the people’s voice, it has no other choice than to dissolve Parliament.
“Let the people decide the country’s future,” he said in a Facebook post.
The Umno vice-president said PH lost the Johor federal seat despite making numerous promises and giving out allocations during its campaign.
“PH ministers made all kinds of sweet promises to the people of Tg Piai, but they no longer believe in PH.
“It is enough to be lied to once; they are not willing to be lied to again.”
He said Tg Piai folk’s sentiment is not unique to the constituency, but shared by Malaysians nationwide.
Ismail Sabri added that PH was also rejected in three earlier by-elections – Cameron Highlands, Semenyih and Rantau.
“The message is clear. The people no longer believe in PH’s ability to lead the country.”
Last night, Barisan Nasional’s Wee Jeck Seng was declared the winner of the Tg Piai contest with a 15,086-vote majority.
The MCA man got 25,466 votes, while his closest competition, PH’s Karmaine Sardini, polled 10,380.
Gerakan’s Wendy Subramaniam won 1,707 votes, Berjasa’s Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz (850), and independents Ang Chuan Lock (380) and Faridah Aryani Abd Ghaffar (32).
The by-election was called following the death of Dr Md Farid Md Rafik, 42, on September 21 due to heart complications. He had won the seat for PH in last year’s 14th general election.
