Shame on you - Guan Eng slams rebels, likens drama to 'Game of Thrones'

Lim Guan Eng chastised those who are working to replace Pakatan Harapan for being more concerned about themselves instead of the people.
The DAP secretary-general (photo), who was speaking after chairing an emergency party meeting, said he empathised with Malaysians confused with the flurry of political developments.
“I think what we feel is secondary to what Malaysians feel, that is most crucial. They feel confused with all this manipulation, all this political chicanery. (It is) like (the television show) Game of Thrones.
“All these political drama is unnecessary, why are you doing all this drama when we all should make sure we can improve the economy? Especially (as we are) facing Covid-19. Especially when we talk about (the) people's livelihood, let's talk about that.

“Why do you want to talk about positions and self-gain? I think this is utterly irresponsible to think we should focus on the people,” he added.
Lim stressed that DAP was firmly opposed to and had no part in the ongoing political machinations.
He specifically called out “certain Bersatu leaders” plus “PKR renegades led by Azmin Ali” for working with opposition parties to orchestrate a backdoor government attempt.
“This is unconstitutional, this is against proper democratic practices, this an attempt to undermine the people's will, this is not a democracy, this is pure political opportunism and it should be rejected by the people of Malaysia.
“To those who indulge in this type of activities, shame on you,” he added.
Despite his resignation as the prime minister today, DAP has declared its decision to nominate Dr Mahathir Mohamad to continue leading the country.
Lim explained that this was because they supported Mahathir's stance in refusing to work with the corrupt Umno leaders.
Amanah and Sabah's Warisan have also pledged their support for Mahathir.
Following the departure of Bersatu and 11 PKR MPs from Harapan, the concern is that the coalition could lose the numbers to remain in power.
Lim, however, rejected the notion and maintained that the government remains. - Mkini
