Bersatu has warned its members to toe the party line and not fraternise with the opposition.
In a statement today, party information chief Radzi Jidin (above) said all members must also support the party's official stand which had been decided collectively.
"I wish to remind members who disobey (the leadership), including intentionally joining other coalitions which oppose the party, that they will have their membership revoked immediately," said Radzi.
Radzi said this form of termination was allowed under Article 10.2.3 of the party's constitution.
Yesterday, the national leadership of Bersatu Youth had resolved that the wing was against forging ties with Umno and wanted to work with Pakatan Harapan.
Radzi's statement did not refer to this incident but instead referred to statements made by deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir on May 3 and chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad on May 4.
Mukhriz had written a long, scathing piece explaining why Bersatu members should turn their backs on Umno and return to Harapan.
Mahathir had signed a joint-statement alongside Harapan and Warisan leaders to urge the federal government to allow the upcoming Dewan Rakyat sitting to last for two weeks instead of one day.
On Mukhriz's statement, Radzi said this was the former's personal view and did not represent the party's.
"Any effort to draw Bersatu towards Harapan is against the party's official position," said Radzi.
As for Mahathir, Radzi said Mahathir was not authorised to represent the party in that statement.
"This act (of signing the document) was against the party's position," he said.
Radzi said Bersatu's leadership had decided on Feb 23 that the party would leave Harapan and not have any relationship with the coalition. - Mkini
