Covid-19 epicentre finally out of red zone

Malaysiakini
Sri Petaling, the epicentre of the country's Covid-19 pandemic which was sparked by a religious gathering there in late February, is no longer a red zone.
According to Health Ministry data, Sri Petaling is now a yellow zone with 30 active cases, down from 41 a day before.
The Health Ministry defines a red zone as an area with more than 40 active Covid-19 cases while yellow zones are areas with up to 40 active Covid-19 cases. Green zones are free of the virus.
Sri Petaling is not the only area in Kuala Lumpur to see an improvement as Bukit Jalil went from a yellow zone to a green zone after its last active Covid-19 patient recovered.
However, Pudu, Kuala Lumpur slipped into a red zone after it recorded 10 additional new cases, bringing the total to 50 active Covid-19 cases.
The area is now under a semi-enhanced movement control order.
Serian, Sarawak also slipped from green to yellow after recording five new Covid-19 cases.
To date, there are seven red zones, 68 yellow zones and 126 green zones, according to the Health Ministry.
The data is updated until noon yesterday.
Around 16,000 people from across the country, as well as some foreign visitors, had attended the religious gathering in Sri Petaling which took place from Feb 27 to March 1.
They later returned to their hometowns, sparking multiple subclusters across the country.
The country went into a partial lockdown on March 18 and restrictions were finally eased on May 4.
The Sri Petaling cluster, for the first time, did not record any new cases on May 12.
To date, the other red zones are Ibu Kota (70), Kampung Baru (70) and Batu (58) in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling (54) in Selangor, Rembau (160) in Negri Sembilan and Kuching (60) in Sarawak.
