The Election Commission has fixed July 4 as the polling date the Chini state seat by-election in Pahang.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Umno assemblyperson Abu Bakar Harun on May 6.
Election Commission (EC) chairperson Azhar Azizan Harun (above) announced that nomination day will be on June 20, early voting will be on June 30 and polling will be on July 4 which is a Saturday.
"The EC will ensure that the Chini by-election meets the conditional movement control order requirements to prevent the spread of Covid-19," said Azhar today.
