ALOR SETAR: The flurry of activities over the imminent change of Kedah state government continues on Saturday (May 16), with several events scheduled to take place, including the rehearsal for the swearing-in of the new Mentri Besar.
At Wisma Darul Aman, the state administrative building, there was a sizeable police presence stationed outside from 8am.
At 10.55am, Kedah's Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah arrived to attend the rehearsal for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for May 17.
Another event that is taking place in the capital is the Kedah Water Hero Award Ceremony at Syarikat Air Darul Aman Sdn Bhd Hall, which was scheduled for Sunday (May 17), but has been pushed forward to Saturday noon.
The event was supposed to be officiated by Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, but according to sources, the state Science, Innovation, Information Technology, Public Works, Water Supply and Source and Energy Committee Datuk Zamri Yusuf will instead officiate the event.
Meanwhile, Kedah Amanah chief Datuk Phahrolrazi Mohd Zawawi said Mukhriz is scheduled to hold a press conference at Wisma Darul Aman at 10am on Sunday.
"The press conference will be held tomorrow (May 17)," he said. - Star
