Maszlee made Mara Corp advisor

Simpang Renggam MP Maszlee Malik has been appointed as the chairperson of Mara Corp's advisory committee.

His committee includes Paya Rumput assemblyperson Rafiq Naizamohideen.

The appointments were announced by Rural Development Minister Abd Latiff Ahmad.

Mara Corp is the business arm of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), which is in turn led by Beaufort MP Azizah Mohd Dun.

All four abovementioned politicians are members of Bersatu.

Abd Latiff announced 12 members to the committee, which will also include PAS central committee member Zainal Abidin Kidam and Umno supreme council member Md Alwi Che Ahmad.

"The ministry believes all appointed Mara members have the requisite leadership, capability, expertise, experience and the fighting spirit of Mara to develop the bumiputera," he said, according to Astro Awani.

Meanwhile, Latiff also appointed Malaysian Trade Union Congress president Abdul Halim Mansor as the chairperson of Mara's training arm Giatmara. - Mkini
