PETALING JAYA: Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun has denied rumours that she has resigned from her Cabinet post.
Rina, who is also the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Women chief, said the rumours were baseless and reiterated her support for party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"I am still a Bersatu member and the Srikandi (Wanita) chief. I support Muhyiddin as the Prime Minister and party president
"I don't want to be associated with political polemics. We are facing a pandemic and we are still under the conditional movement control order (MCO).
"Our focus is on the rakyat and the plans that need to be put in place for us to handle the pandemic together," she said during a press conference at Sofitel Hotel on Friday (May 29).
Rina said everyone's focus now should be on handling the Covid-19 pandemic as it affected the health, security and economy of the nation.
She said it was not right for certain parties to politicise issues when they should be focusing on helping the government to combat the outbreak.
Also present were Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin who is also Bersatu secretary-general, Education Minister Mohd Radzi Jidin, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Datuk Dr Ronald Kiandee and a few others. - Star
