Zahid's daughter to be charged on Tuesday for MCO breach

Malaysiakini

Daughter of Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid, will be charged in court tomorrow for alleged breach of the movement control order (MCO).
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Huzir Mohamed said this was after the Attorney-General's Chambers received their investigation papers and decided to press charges against Nurulhidayah (above).
"The decision has been made by the AGC on Tuesday.
"She will be charged this Tuesday at the Kuala Lumpur courts," Huzir said during a press conference at Bukit Aman on movement plans for those who planned to travel back to the cities from their home towns.
He said this when asked for an update of the case's status, after Nurulhidayah yesterday indicated that she, together with her husband Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusoff will be charged soon.
The couple was probed after Nurulhidayah last month posted on social media about her meeting with de facto Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Mohamad. Her husband was also present during the meeting at Zulkifli's office in Putrajaya.
Following that, Nurulhidayah also shared another photo of their meeting with Deputy Environment and Water Minister Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad, also a former political secretary to her father.
'Police permit and pre-appointment obtained'
The postings were widely criticised as netizens accused her of breaching the MCO.
The MCO guidelines among others state that movement during its second and third phase is limited to one person per car and only within a 10km radius, unless with special permission from the police or authorised to work.
Nurulhidayah, however, told Malaysiakini yesterday that she had obtained police permission to attend the meeting during MCO.
She further explained that she had set prior appointments to meet with the minister and deputy minister.
Commenting on Nurulhidayah's argument that she had obtained a police permit to travel, Huzir only said: "A decision has been made by the AGC."
Yesterday, Nurulhidayah also expressed her readiness to be charged, and also to apologise as she refused to drag the matter further. - Mkini
