JOHOR BAHRU: The government will ask the health ministry to make an early announcement on whether to allow interstate travel in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, said senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ismail said an early decision would help the public to make preparations and allow those using public transport to purchase tickets to return to their hometowns.
“This matter is under the purview of the health ministry and they will conduct a risk assessment (on the matter),” he told reporters after attending an afternoon tea event with the residents of the Army Combat Training Centre in Ulu Tiram, here today.
He announced that the government had allocated about RM1.34 million to upgrade basic facilities at the centre, including its mosque, fences and accommodations. - FMT
