PETALING JAYA: The home ministry is investigating a claim that Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, was behind the abduction of a Palestinian in Kuala Lumpur last month.

Caretaker minister Hamzah Zainudin said the ministry would take action if the claim that Mossad agents had entered Malaysia was true.

He said the entry of foreigners into the country was constantly monitored and action would be taken against those without valid documentation.

“If we think they should be arrested, we will act appropriately,” Sinar Harian quoted him as saying.

Earlier today, the New Straits Times reported that a Palestinian national was kidnapped in a “snatch-and-grab” operation on Sept 28.

The victim, a computer programmer, was allegedly beaten as he was transported to a house in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, where he was blindfolded and tied to a chair.

He was then interrogated on matters related to the Hamas organisation and its armed wing, Qassam Brigades, the daily reported.

The Palestinian man was subsequently rescued by police.

The report also claimed that Mossad recruited locals to help the Zionist regime track down Hamas members in Malaysia, leaving no trace of its involvement. - FMT
