KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) is keen to create a Political Funding Act to ensure the political practices in the country are transparent.
BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said at the same time, if the coalition is to come to power after the 15th General Election (GE15), major appointments such as the head of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and Election Commission would be selected through a special parliament select committee.
"Through their representatives in Parliament, the rakyat will be given a mandate to scrutinise and be involved in vetting the appointments of important public positions in the country."
He said this when unveiling the coalition's 15th General Election manifesto in a live broadcast on Facebook tonight. - NST
