PETALING JAYA: Flash floods have struck several parts of the Klang Valley and Melaka, following heavy rain in the afternoon.
Affected areas include various parts of Kuala Lumpur, the Hulu Langat and Sepang districts in Selangor, as well as Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
According to netizens, among the affected areas are Taman Desa Karunmas in Bangi and Eco Majestic in Semenyih.
Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan said his team had been informed that several areas in the constituency had been hit by floods, adding that they were working on helping the victims.
“At the same time, I ask everyone to take care of themselves and their family members,” he said in a Twitter post.
Twitter user @hurricanesshh, who asked Syahredzan for aid, said her housing area had never seen floods in the 10 years that she had stayed there.
In KL, numerous cars could be seen slowly braving flood waters along several roads, including Jalan Damansara, Jalan Parlimen, the Sultan Iskandar Roundabout and Jalan Kuching.
Meanwhile, Ayer Keroh assemblyman Kerk Chee Yee said several areas in the Melaka town were also hit by flash floods after heavy rain, including Peringgit Jaya, Kampung Tun Razak and Bukit Katil.
Hang Tuah Jaya MP Adam Adli said he and Kerk had gone to help the victims and distributed food packs. - FMT
