Wan Fayhsal apologises after old tweets lambasting PAS surfaces

Set to contest using the PAS logo, Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal today apologised for lambasting the Islamic party three years ago.

His old tweets from 2019 accusing the party of, among others, being implicated in the 1MDB scandal resurfaced after he was announced as the Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for Machang.

This prompted the deputy minister to delete his Twitter account and issue an apology on Facebook.

"I apologise to all PAS members for making those impolite statements.

"I regret this and will be more cautious in the future," said Wan Fayhsal (above), who will be contesting for the first time.

He added that PAS has proven that it is committed to good and clean governance under the PN government.

"I will continue to be with PN and PAS to fight for justice and fairness for all Kelantan residents and Malaysians, according to Islam," said the deputy national unity minister.

In 2018, BN's Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub defeated Bersatu and PAS in Machang with a majority of 2,834 votes. - Mkini
