N Sembilan MB announces portfolios for 11-member state exco

 

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun has announced the portfolios for the 11-member executive council after their first meeting at Bangunan Wisma Negeri in Seremban today.

In addition to being menteri besar, Aminuddin (above) will hold the portfolios of:

• Islamic Religious Affairs and Security action committee

• Finance, Land, and Natural Resources action committee

• Investment, Infrastructure, Public Utilities, and Amenities action committee

Senior executive councillor Jalaluddin Alias has been assigned two portfolios:

• Rural Development, Plantation, and Commodities action committee

• Agriculture, Food Security, and Cost of Living action committee

Reappointed as executive concillors were:

• Teo Kok Seong (Bahau) - Industry and Non-Islamic Affairs action committee

• Nicole Tan (Bukit Kepayang) - Tourism, Arts, and Culture action committee

• S Veerapan (Repah) - Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Climate Change, Cooperatives, and Consumerism action committee

• J Arul Kumar (Nilai) - Local Government Development, Housing, and Transport

They are joined by five new faces:

• Noorzunita Begum Mohd Ibrahim (Pilah) - Women, Family, and Community Affairs action committee

• Ismail Lasim (Seri Menanti) - Education and Human Capital action committee

• Mustapha Nagoor (Palong) - Youth and Sports Development action committee

• Mohd Faizal Ramli (Linggi) - Heritage, Technology, Innovation, and Digital action committee

• Tengku Zamrah Tengku Sulaiman (Ampangan) - Health, Unity, Information, National Integration, and Non-governmental Organisations action committee

Aminuddin, who is the Sikamat assemblyperson, also said the meeting discussed other matters, including the date of the 15th Negeri Sembilan legislative assembly and the appointment of the state speaker and deputy speaker.

“Names for both the speaker and deputy speaker’s positions haven’t been determined as the list needs to be sent seven days before the sitting is held. But we will hold a special sitting for them to be sworn in, scheduled on Sept 26,” he said.
