September 2023 electoral roll open for review

The September 2023 Electoral Roll (DPT BLN9/2023), which was verified and gazetted yesterday, is open for review for the next 30 days until Nov 22.

Election Commission (EC) secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak said the supplementary electoral roll contained 42,699 names of citizens aged 18 and above during the period between Sept 1, 2023, and Sept 30, 2023 - who were automatically registered as new voters.

It also contained 6,652 names of registered voters who changed electoral divisions and 1,386 names of voters who changed their voter status/category, he said in a statement.

He said the EC provides five review methods, which are through the EC portal or at mySPRSemak; official portal of state election offices and the online application.

Checks can also be done through the MySPR Semak mobile application or the Voter Registration Check Hotline at 03-8892 7218, he added.

Ikmalrudin urged citizens aged 18 and above during the period Sept 1 to Sept 30 and any registered voters who have applied for a change of electoral division or change of status to check their names in DPT BLN9/2023.

If their names are not listed, they can make a claim by filling in Form C through the online application at this link or go to the relevant State Election Office, he said.

Any registered voter in an electoral division who makes a review and wishes to make an objection, he said, can do so by filling in Form D online or go to the relevant state election office.

He said Form C and Form D can be downloaded from the State Election Offices portal and must be submitted to the relevant state election director for submission and pay the objection fee during office hours on any working day during the review period of DPT BLN9/2023.
