Anwar slams Hamzah for criticising him over edited version of CNN interview

 

Anwar Ibrahim blamed ‘saboteurs’ for intentionally editing his CNN interview to make it seem like he did not answer questions on Malaysia’s economy properly.

KUALA LUMPUR: Anwar Ibrahim has hit out at opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin for referring to an edited version of his interview with CNN when criticising the prime minister’s response to questions on Malaysia’s economy.

Anwar said that Hamzah should watch the entire interview he had with Christiane Amanpour instead.

“We have shown the entire interview with CNN where I provided my answers in full, but there are saboteurs who had intentionally edited it to make it seem like I did not answer the question.

“I hope the honourable MP does not just watch the cut and paste version, but instead views the full interview,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat.

Anwar said this after Hamzah questioned why the former could not provide a satisfactory answer on the Madani economy framework.

Hamzah said because Anwar, who is also the finance minister, could not provide a satisfactory answer, he had to ask the question again at the lower house. - FMT
