Singapore’s National Development Minister Desmond Lee had a series of meetings with Malaysian politicians from both sides of the political divide yesterday.
One of the more notable meetings was between Lee (above, centre) and PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and others.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Tuan Ibrahim said the meeting saw discussions on the development focus of both Malaysia and Singapore.
“Furthermore, our meeting also delved into the potential collaboration between Singapore and the states of Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, and Perlis, all of which fall under the administration of PAS and Perikatan Nasional.
“I also took the opportunity to extend a warm welcome to Singapore for potential investments in Malaysia, particularly in promising industries like the rare earth industry,” he said.
Besides PAS, Lee had also met with Bersatu’s Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin - which was also the Singapore minister’s first meeting of the day.
Lee said in a Facebook post that the meeting was to understand Radzi’s “perspectives on economic matters”.
On the government side, the Singapore minister met with Housing and Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming to discuss potential collaborations such as smart towns, urban renewal, and city planning.
Lee also met with Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and had a dinner meeting with Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli. - Mkini
