The Johor PKR chapter today suggested the Education Ministry form a special committee to monitor teachers who do not support the government.
Its representative to PKR National Congress 2023 Haryati Abu Nasir, said there is a worrying trend among civil servants, where some have openly shown that they are against the administration.
“We hope the Education Ministry will consider that it might be good (for the ministry) to form a monitoring committee.
“Because there is a worrying phenomenon among civil servants who do not support the unity government,” she said when debating the PKR president’s policy speech at the congress held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
When met by reporters later, Haryati elaborated that it was just a suggestion from Johor PKR as they were concerned about civil servants going against the government's Madani aspiration.
The committee they suggested was to monitor and identify issues that caused the group to oppose the government.
“The committee should serve to monitor, study, and curb this problem. Perhaps there are things we (the government) can improve.
“This issue is actually overall. My speech was suggested for the Education Ministry because I was tasked to debate education issues.
“By right, there are many civil servants who still do not support the government. We hope that civil servants can give their support,” she said. - Mkini
