KUCHING: Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg will attend the upcoming Central European Hydrogen Technology and Decarbonisation Forum in Poznan, Poland, as a panellist in one of the sessions.
According to the premier’s office, Abang Johari will be on the panel at a forum session titled “Debate Regions for the Planet”, on April 24.
“The premier will be speaking on Sarawak’s perspective and its experience towards energy transition, renewable energy security, decarbonisation and environmental sustainability,” it said in a statement.
The forum is scheduled for April 24 and 25. Abang Johari will be accompanied by his deputy, Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, who is also Sarawak’s international trade, industry and investment minister.
State secretary Abu Bakar Marzuki and state deputy energy and environmental sustainability minister Hazland Abang Hipni will also be in the delegation.
Abang Johari will also visit the UK for three days, where he is scheduled to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Sarawak’s SMD Semiconductor and the UK’s Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult at the House of Commons in London. - FMT
