A Kelantan elected representative has claimed that his Facebook had been hacked after netizens pointed out the posting of pornographic content on the account.
A check revealed that Kijang assemblyperson Izani Husin’s page, which has 25,000 followers, shared dozens of explicit and pornographic material, including short videos.
When contacted, the PAS lawmaker claimed that "irresponsible parties" had hacked the page administered by the Kijang state constituency service centre.
He said the purported hacking happened a month ago and his office had been unable to recover the account since.
"Yes, it (the account) has been hacked, and we have lodged a complaint with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission," Izani told Malaysiakini.
One of his staff, who declined to be identified, said several Kijang state constituency service centre employees initially managed the Facebook account.
"After the hacking, none of them can access the Facebook page any longer.
"We have since set up a new Facebook account under the same name," he added. - Mkini
