PKR forms Secretariat of PKR President's Office

 

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today chaired the formation of the Secretariat of the PKR President's Office.

The PKR president said the secretariat office is entrusted to dignify and empower the party as well as to assist, monitor and coordinate movements at all levels throughout the party.

"The Secretariat of the President's Office is also entrusted with reviewing the party constitution to determine PKR's direction and future as well as providing views and recommendations on current issues that arise in national politics,” he said on Facebook.

The secretariat is composed of five political secretaries, led by Romli Ishak as the coordinator.

The other members are Onn Abu Bakar, Sim Tze Tzin, Manivanan Gowin and Juwairiya Zulkifli.

"PKR leaders and members are advised to work together in shouldering the responsibility to support PKR's aspirations in championing the rights and welfare of the people for the country’s future,” Anwar said.

‘Strengthen PKR’

In a response, Sim said that Anwar’s instruction to the secretariat office was very clear - strengthen the party.

"If we look at the ruling party in other countries such as Türkiye, Singapore, China and Germany, the strong ruling party leads the government.

"In Germany and the UK, the party's ideology determines government policy,” he said on Facebook.

Sim added that the reality of Malaysian politics is that votes follow parties.

“Victory is guaranteed by a strong and stable party,” the Bayan Baru MP said.
