LANGKAWI: Langkawi ferry operators are stepping up services for the Malaysia Day and school holiday rush, with 118 additional trips scheduled between Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah and Langkawi to cater to the festive crowds.

Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd operations manager Norhafiz Abdul Wahid said the extra services, running from Sept 12 to 21, are expected to serve an estimated 100,000 visitors, including both domestic and international travellers.

"Passenger ferry services will operate from 7am to 7pm daily and will be extended until 10pm if online ticket demand is high," he said in a statement today.

Norhafiz said the move was aimed at helping visitors plan their holidays more efficiently.

Tickets are available online as well as at counters at the Kuala Perlis and Kuala Kedah terminals.

Norhafiz assured that operations will be maintained at the highest level of readiness throughout the Malaysia Day and school holiday period. - NST
