Businessperson Albert Tei claims he received a WhatsApp message from Sabah Deputy Chief Minister I and Keningau MP Jeffrey Kitingan’s wife, Cecilia Edwin, shortly after a video implicating her husband in the state’s mining scandal surfaced.
“I received the text this afternoon, but I did not respond. It sounded like she was asking about the other videos of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) leaders,” he told Malaysiakini.
Tei also produced a screenshot of the alleged message, which read: “Where is the rest y bos (sic) only.”
The text also contained a link to Warisan vice-president Junz Wong’s Facebook page, where Kitingan’s video was posted.
When contacted, Cecilia declined to address the allegations against Kitingan.
“No comment. I have nothing to do with anything,” she told Malaysiakini.

After Malaysiakini shared the WhatsApp screenshot, she replied: “Ow, I was commenting bos's (sic) video only what about the rest…I didn't say otherwise aduii (sic). I said where is the rest why my bos (sic) only.”
Earlier today, Tei released a video recording of his conversation with Star president Kitingan.
The businessperson alleged the veteran politician received the largest payout, a whopping RM1.78 million, in relation to the mining scandal.
In the recording, Tei also claimed to have paid over RM500,000 to Kitingan’s deputy and Sook assemblyperson Ellron Alfred Angin, and another RM300,000 to Bingkor assemblyperson Robert Tawik, who is also a Star deputy president.
Sabah politicians implicated
In June, Malaysiakini reported that six more Sabah politicians were implicated after a source furnished screenshots purportedly taken from similar videos.

At the time, Kitingan dismissed the claims as “completely unfounded” and part of a political move to “destabilise, demonise and demolish” the Sabah government.
The PBS leaders implicated were acting president Joachim Gunsalam, who also denied the allegation, his predecessor Maximus Ongkili, and deputy president Jahid Jahim.
Prior to this, Tei had released nine recordings, implicating assemblypersons and the state legislative assembly speaker, Kadzim Yahya, alleging bribes in exchange for mineral exploration licences. - Mkini
