KEPALA BATAS: Amanah considers allegations that it is just a pawn in Pakatan Harapan (PH) as normal, its president Mohamad Sabu said.
He said the allegations only showed people were jealous of the success achieved by the party, which was gaining support.
“To me, these allegations are normal. What is important is that we are on the rise, our party membership has also increased, and that is proof of the people’s support,” the defence minister said after officiating the opening of the Honda Impian X Showroom and Service Centre here today.
Mohamad, or better known as Mat Sabu, said Amanah had attracted more than 100,000 members nationwide since its establishment three years ago.
It had fewer than 80,000 members before the May 9 general election.
He said the biggest number of new members was from PAS stronghold Kelantan, with 5,000 joining each month.
“Just last month we received 5,000 membership applications from Kelantan, with 40% of the applicants being from PAS and the rest from various other parties,” he said. - FMT
