Bung claims Yamani still an Umno MP

Umno still considers Yamani Hafez Musa an Umno lawmaker instead of an independent, the party's Sabah chief Bung Moktar Radin said today.
This is because Yamani has not come out personally to announce his intention to quit the party, he added.
"He never said anything about exiting Umno so he is still an Umno member.
"So is his father (former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman)," he told Malaysiakini today.
Yamani, who is said to be among the 13 MPs who quit Umno last month, was finally sworn in as MP today, eight months after the 14th general election.
His status with regard to Umno is still unknown, as he declined to speak with reporters after the swearing-in ceremony held at Parliament.
A Parliament official said it had yet to receive any letter from Yamani as to his party status.
The official added that the status of five Sabah MPs who announced their decision to quit Umno last month is still unclear, as they had yet to officially inform the Dewan Rakyat of their decision.
On Dec 12, 2018, more than a dozen Sabah Umno lawmakers and leaders held a press conference to announce that they had left the party and pledged support to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Yamani did not attend the press conference.
Bung also told Malaysiakini that Umno is still unable to contact the Sipitang MP. - Mkini
