More appropriate to air grouses through internal channels, says PKR sec-gen

Rather than publicly airing personal objections against the party, PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution today said it would be more "appropriate and in order" for a party member to do so via internal channels.
The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs minister told reporters in Putrajaya that party members could air their grouses through existing platforms such as the central leadership council (MPP) and PKR's political bureau, be it at the central, state or division levels.
"We provide (space in) the congress, the MPP, the weekly political bureau meetings (to air views).
"Given these spaces which we have provided, it would be more appropriate, in order and ideal if these existing party channels could be utilised," Saifuddin said at a press conference after attending his ministry's excellent service award ceremony this morning.
As a dynamic party which upholds the principle of reforms, Saifuddin maintained that PKR is always open to its leaders and members to make use of any existing decision-making platform.
Saifuddin said this in response to PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali who yesterday defended his criticisms of recent party appointments, arguing that there were issues which must be stated publicly.
Azmin also insisted his open criticism did not mean he had ignored party channels to air his grouses, as he stressed that he had met PKR president Anwar Ibrahim to discuss the matter before going public.
In a Facebook post, Azmin, who was on holiday abroad at the time, had urged Anwar to reconsider the fresh appointments to key party positions, as he argued some of the individuals do not reflect the principle of fair and just representation of the party member's aspirations. - Mkini
