Cops arrest mysterious woman causing panic in Penang village

GEORGE TOWN: Police today arrested a woman, who had appeared to have painted herself blue, and was regularly spotted loitering around a village near Kepala Batas over the past week.
North Seberang Perai district police chief Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the woman had “caused panic” among people due to her appearance and face which was blue in colour.
He said the police spotted her lurking around a government nursery today at 10am. She was not in possession of any identification documents and claimed to be from Indonesia.
He said the woman was subsequently arrested to be investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/1963 for having no valid entry permit into Malaysia.
“We are asking her why she is loitering around the town in suspicious behaviour. All we hear from the kampung folk is she is so regular that she has earned the nickname ‘orang biru’,” he said when contacted.
Noorzainy said the woman was also seen riding a motorcycle on her own around the Pajak Song area, which is a Malay village south of Kepala Batas.
He said the woman will be brought to the Magistrate’s Court tomorrow to be remanded.
