KUALA LUMPUR: An 11-year-old girl died while her older brother sustained a minor injury when a taxi rammed into the motorcycle that they were on in Bangsar on Wednesday (Jan 23).
Amzar Hazieq Azizi, 18, was riding the motorcycle with his sister Athierah Batricesya was riding pillion on Jalan Maarof when a taxi rammed into them near the Jalan Tanduk junction at about 7am on Wednesday.
The impact of the crash caused the siblings to fall on the road.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said Athierah, who is a student at SK Bukit Bandaraya, sustained a severe head injury along with wounds on her legs and body.
“She died at the scene.
“Her brother suffered bruises to his left leg,” he said when contacted.
The taxi driver did not sustained any injury, he added.
“Athirah’s body has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.
“The case is classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving,” ACP Zulkefly said.- Star
