Khairul Dzaimee is new Immigration DG

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Indera Khairul Dzaimee Daud has been appointed as the new Immigration Department director-general.
Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Alwi Ibrahim said the appointment takes effect on Monday (Jan 14).
He said the 47-year-old Khairul Dzaimee holds a Masters in Strategy and Diplomacy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
"He began employment in the public service in 1996.
"He has worked in various agencies and ministries including the National Security Council and Home Ministry," Alwi said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 13).
Khairul Dzaimee has vast experience in security and immigration management, Alwi added.
"He was also responsible for policies concerning immigration matters, foreign workers management and national registration issues due to his post as the Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (policy and control) from July 2018 to Jan 13, 2019," Alwi said.
Khairul Dzaimee replaces Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali who is now the National Financial Crime Centre (NFCC) chief executive.
On another matter, Alwi also announced that Datuk Jamil Rakon has been retained as the Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (management).
"This is due to his vast experience in public administration and management.
"He has a Masters in Human Resources Management from the Australian Institute of Criminology, Canberra and he started his public service at the Defence Ministry in December, 1992," he said.
Alwi said he has no doubt that both men will assist in strengthening the Immigration Department and Home Ministry.- Star
