Cops greenlight 'peace rally' from 7.30am to 11am

Police have given the green light for tomorrow's gathering in Kuala Lumpur proposed by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa following the Christchurch massacre, where a Malaysian teenager was among the 50 killed.
However, inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun set a time limit.
According to Bernama, he said the gathering, dubbed the “peace rally”, would be allowed to proceed at Dataran Merdeka from 7.30am until 11am.
The police's consent allayed legal concerns as Mujahid first proposed that the rally be held on Monday, which would not satisfy the 10-day notice required under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
Mujahid had said the rally aims to bring people from all walks of life to show solidarity with the victims of the massacre.
He had also urged participants not to display any party logos to keep the rally apolitical.
