Former employees (above) of Syarikat Ritz Global TV Berhad have lodged a report with the Labour Department over unpaid wages affecting around 15 staff.
The company, which has only been in operation for a month, was responsible for the production of a news programme for local broadcaster MyTV. The staff began work on Feb 1.
"We also lodged a report with the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters on March 15," said Mohd Haizal Yatiran, one of the former employees.
Haizal said the staff were promised payment on Feb 27, but this did not materialise.
"We will also be lodging a report with the Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on the company's activities in the media industry," he said.
The company is owned by Azmah Dahari - a former special officer to a minister under the previous government - and her husband.
When contacted, Azmah declined to comment. - Mkini
