In pursuit of truth, Hisham still keen on tracking down Jho Low

Former defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein is still willing to assist the government to locate fugitive financier Jho Low, who is being sought in connection with the 1MDB scandal.
"Definitely! I want to find the truth with regard to 1MDB.
"I have been consistent on that and if Jho Low is critical (to the investigation), I will do my part, but it's not something that can be done by just one man.
"It’s not as easy as that because it involves third parties, it involves governments," he told reporters in Parliament today.
Hishammuddin first made the offer to track down Jho Low last October, stressing that he wanted to see closure to the 1MDB case.
Asked if he had obtained any leads since then, the Sembrong MP laughed and said the most important thing would be for the truth to be uncovered.
"I have told the IGP (inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun) of any developments that I have whether in China or other countries.
“My contacts are wide and I will deal with the IGP,” he added.
Similarly, Hishammuddin said the authorities are free to pursue their investigations, including on allegations concerning his former aides.
"What we want is the truth. What we want is justice and like I said, as much as my officers will be investigated, I will be investigated, others who are responsible, (we) will have to face justice.
"I have always been consistent on that,” he added.
On Saturday, Deputy Defence Minister Liew Chin Tong reportedly said Hishammuddin's former aides were involved in armed forces land-swap deals which caused losses amounting to RM500 million.

The Malaysian Insight quoted Liew as saying the matter was discovered by the special investigations committee chaired by former auditor-general Ambrin Buang.
According to the report, Liew referred to the losses incurred by the Defence Ministry in 16 land-swap projects since 1997.
These included the building of four military camps for political purposes, including one in Paloh, which is in Hishammuddin's parliamentary constituency Sembrong. - Mkini
