KAJANG: A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping, sodomising and assaulting his 18-year-old sister-in-law.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the 18-year-old victim, who lived with her sister and the suspect, has been confirmed by doctors to be eight months pregnant.
"The victim said that the suspect began raping her two years ago and that she would be assaulted if she fought back," said ACP Ahmad Dzaffir.
He said that the last incident was on March 19 when the suspect allegedly raped the victim twice and sodomised her.
"The suspect even assaulted the victim by whipping her back with a belt as she had initially refused his demands," added ACP Ahmad Dzaffir.
He said that the victim also claimed that her sister would scold her if she didn't allow herself to be raped by the suspect.
"The suspect had also recorded one of the rape incidents and threatened to show it to her future husband if she went to the police," added ACP Ahmad Dzaffir.
The suspect has been remanded until March 29 for further investigation, he added.-Star
