PETALING JAYA: MPH bookstores says it is investigating an allegation by a chemist who claimed his son was slapped twice by a security guard at its Nu Sentral outlet.
They said that the employee involved has been suspended pending the investigation.
“We thank you for your concern, and for bringing this matter to our attention.
“Please (be) assured that we take this matter very seriously,” MPH said in a statement on its Facebook page.
Earlier, a chemist who wants to be identified only as Lim Yaw said that his 13-year old son was waiting for his mother to pick him up from the MPH bookstore in Nu Sentral on Sunday (March 24) when a security guard suspected Lim's son of stealing a book.
He alleged in a Facebook post that the guard brought his son into another room where he then slapped the teenager's face twice.
Earlier, a chemist who wants to be identified only as Lim Yaw said that his 13-year old son was waiting for his mother to pick him up from the MPH bookstore in Nu Sentral on Sunday (March 24) when a security guard suspected Lim's son of stealing a book.
He alleged in a Facebook post that the guard brought his son into another room where he then slapped the teenager's face twice.
Lim then said that the guard later discovered that the book had a sticker proving that it had been bought in the past and added that the guard told his son to not tell his parents about the incident.- Star
