No sign Indira's ex-husband, child left Malaysia - IGP

There are no indications that Indira Gandhi’s former husband Muhammad Riduan Abdullah and their youngest daughter Prasana Diksa have gone abroad, said Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

However, the inspector-general of police noted that there are also illegal means through which the pair could have left the country.
"We have no leads to work with to find Indira Gandhi's daughter.
"I also cannot be sure because when we check with the Immigration (Department), there are no records of them departing to other countries.
"But we must remember that one can leave the country legally, or illegally," Fuzi told a press conference after witnessing the ceremonial handing-over of duties by his deputy Noor Rashid Ibrahim to Abdul Hamid Bador in Kuala Lumpur today.
Asked if the police had sought help from their foreign counterparts, Fuzi replied in the negative, as no information to that effect had been received so far.
"If we get a lead that they (Riduan and Prasana) are in a certain country, we will seek the help of our counterparts there, as well as Interpol.
"Although we have yet to seek outside help, we have been constantly sending notices to the public appealing for help to provide leads on the pair's whereabouts."
Last month, Fuzi said that information had not been forthcoming from the public, despite various appeals for help made by the police.
On Wednesday, the Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat) - an NGO dedicated to helping Indira (photo, below) find her daughter - said it is seeking the help of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after various new leads provided to the Malaysian police allegedly went unheeded.
Ingat chairperson Arun Dorasamy said they have also alerted Thai authorities after receiving a tip-off that Riduan was hiding in the country.
Ingat had previously offered an RM10,000 reward for anyone providing information leading to Riduan's arrest.
t has been almost 10 years since Riduan took Prasana away and unilaterally converted his three children to Islam in 2009.

A lengthy legal battle between Riduan and Indira then ensued, involving both the Syariah and civil courts.
In 2014, the High Court had issued an arrest warrant for Riduan, but the police have yet to locate him.
Last year, the Federal Court unanimously declared the unilateral conversion to be unlawful.  - Mkini
