KUALA LUMPUR: A minor scuffle broke out outside Universiti Malaya (UM) here today where former prime minister Najib Razak was speaking at a dialogue in the upper floor of a nearby restaurant.
Less than a dozen students held placards condemning Najib, when they were attacked by several Umno supporters, including Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam.
The dialogue with Najib was taking place at Restoran Amjal, a popular meeting place for activists and students.
The students had gathered across the road from the restaurant, holding posters saying “Najib tak malu” (Najib not ashamed) and “Mana RM2.6 billion” (Where is RM2.6 billion), along with a placard of a clown resembling the former leader.
A group of Najib’s supporters then confronted the students.
One student was also seen to have been held from behind before being surrounded by other individuals. -FMT
