Stop criticising Nurul Izzah, focus on economy, Anwar chides Azmin

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has told Azmin Ali to concentrate on his ministerial work.
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim today advised his deputy, Azmin Ali, to stop criticising his daughter, Nurul Izzah, and instead focus on his duties as economic affairs minister.
He hoped his statement would clear the air because the most important matter at the moment was resuscitating the country’s economy.
“I hope that there will be calm after this explanation. Everybody has a responsibility to develop the economy,” said Anwar at the Parliament lobby.
Yesterday, Azmin was critical of Nurul Izzah on Twitter.
“This country needs doers who are prepared to tough it out all the way, not cry babies.
“Whatever it takes, we must make it work. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen,” Azmin had tweeted.
This came after the Permatang Pauh MP’s statement that this would be her last stint as an MP.
Nurul Izzah, in an interview with Singapore daily, The Straits Times, also aired her disappointment over political developments in the country post-GE14. She was also dissatisfied with former Umno MPs joining Pakatan Harapan.
She also mentioned Dr Mahathir Mohamad, saying it wasn’t easy working with an ex-dictator who was the source of so much damage in the past.
Last week, Nurul Izzah had vacated her position as a member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) because she was not satisfied with Mahathir’s decision to allow Beluran MP Ronald Kiandee to continue chairing the PAC after he had joined the PH government.

PH had promised in its election manifesto that the post will be held by an opposition member for better checks and balances. - FMT
