PKR AGM | PKR Youth deputy head Hilman Idham said he and several other wing leaders have resolved to initiate complaints to nullify the wing's congress today.
He said the congress should be held again at another date in view of alleged attempts to stop some delegates from attending the meeting while a group of unidentified youths in black were allowed in.
Speaking at a press conference at a hotel a short distance away from the congress venue, Hilman said the first agenda was to lodge police reports over the wrongdoings at the congress.
"After completing this process, we will provide a report to the party secretary-general and the Registrar of Societies," he said.
Hilman said he and his supporters decided not to attend the afternoon session of the congress due to "security concerns".
This boycott involved 20 PKR Youth exco members.
"We don't want to attend (the afternoon session). We were barred from entry, some were injured and were not welcomed.
"I hope the party will ensure security for everyone tomorrow," he said.
There were two rounds of clashes during the PKR Youth congress today.
The first incident involved supporters of Mizan Adli Mohd Noor and security personnel. Mizan was refused entry on grounds that he was no longer a PKR Youth member. This had led to scuffles.
During the lunch break, another scuffle broke out between some PKR Youth members — wearing PKR corporate shirts — and mysterious youths in black T-shirts.
The scuffles left some on both sides bloodied.
Following this, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim warned that those responsible for the fracas would have their party membership revoked. - Mkini
