Umno assembly in stitches as delegate speaks Chinese

UMNO AGM | Delegates and observers at the Umno general assembly were in stitches this morning when a party member suddenly spoke in Chinese during his debate on policy speech.
Mohd Jafni Md Shukor of Kulai Umno division was debating the party president's policy speech in Malay before he turned to Mandarin to send a message to Umno ally MCA.
Spending about a minute in doing so, the delegate sent across a reminder to MCA to not let down Tanjung Piai voters who had supported the party in the recent by-election, especially the Chinese voters.
"Take the Tanjung Piai victory as a new spirit. Do not let down Tanjung Piai voters, especially the Chinese community," said Mohd Jafni, adding they believe that MCA could bring back the support of the Chinese community to BN.

"Thank you PAS. Thank you BN. Thank you Malaysians. BN had won (the by-election) with 15,086 majority. Doesn't matter what happens, we will continue to support BN, to support Umno, and to support Muafakat Nasional," he said.
Umno deputy permanent chairperson Ridzuan Abdul Hamid also took the opportunity to tease Mohd Jafni in the middle of his speech, saying wo bu zhi dao, which means "I do not understand".
Before he started speaking in Chinese, Mohd Jafni told delegates that the majority of the Malays had wanted a Malay candidate to represent BN in the by-election.
However, they have accepted the decision by the BN leadership to field a Chinese candidate. - Mkini
