Anwar Ibrahim's former staff member who accused him of sexual misconduct has lodged a police report today, urging authorities to investigate the contents of his statutory declaration that detailed the alleged incident.
Muhammed Yusoff Rawther had lodged the report at the Sentul district police headquarters this afternoon.
This was confirmed by Sentul police chief S Shanmugamoorthy when he was contacted by Malaysiakini.
"Yes, I can confirm that he has lodged a police report, stating that he wanted police to investigate his statutory declaration," Shanmugamoorthy said, adding that the case has been taken by Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department.
According to a snapshot of the police report sighted by Malaysiakini, Yusoff claimed that the alleged sexual misconduct incident took place at Anwar's residence in Segambut on Oct 2 last year.
The man also mentioned that he was worried about his safety and felt threatened by certain parties after he held a press conference on the matter on Wednesday.
In his statutory declaration dated Nov 19, was also made available on a Facebook page.
The page shared videoclips from his Wednesday's press conference where Yusoff claimed that he was a victim of indecent exposure, molest and a lewd proposal allegedly committed by Anwar.
Anwar had since denied the allegation. - Mkini
