PKR AGM | Supporters of PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has walked out of the party's congress, citing unhappiness over the speeches made by party delegates.
The walkout occurred at approximately 2.50pm after Penang delegate Gooi Hsiao-Leung's speech and a few minutes into Selangor delegate Shathiskumar Govindaraju's speech.
More than 100 people were seen leaving the hall at this time.
Some were heard chanting Balik! Keluar! (leave!).
Delegates who left the hall told Malaysiakini that speeches complained that the list of delegates who were allowed to speak were mostly critical of Azmin.
"We support those who are genuinely trying to unite the party. But there are speeches intended to split the party and provoke (us). This should not happen," one delegate told Malaysiakini.
PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin were supposed to have agreed on a ceasefire during the congress.

Both leaders had adopted reconciliatory tones during their addresses at the congress and appealed for rapprochement.
Although there was no clear sign of a rift during the speeches made during the PKR Youth and Women's wing congresses yesterday, a significant number of delegates for the main congress took veiled jabs at Azmin this morning.
PKR vice-president Tian Chua, who was seen leaving the hall around the same time as the rest of the delegates, insisted there was no such thing as a walkout.
"Nothing happened. No one walked out," he said to reporters outside the Malacca International Trade Centre (MITC) building where the congress is held.
When reporters pointed out that there was a huge group of people who just walked out of the hall, he said: "Then you will have to ask them."
He also said he would be staying on until the congress ends.
Meanwhile, PKR Information chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin said he does not know why a walkout was staged.
"The party will bring this to the disciplinary board to be examined.
"But we will continue with our congress," he told reporters later.
The three-day PKR congress in Ayer Keroh ends tomorrow.
