GEORGE TOWN: Fifteen workers living in a burning three-storey terrace house in Solok Thean Teik in Air Itam escaped unhurt after firemen arrived just in time to rescue them.
The fire, which broke out at 10.11am Friday (April 10), is believed to have started from the storeroom on the ground floor before it started spreading.
Upon arrival at the scene, firemen found many of the workers gathered on the house’s balcony and ledges, waiting to be rescued.
Ladders were then used to bring down the victims before the fire was put out within minutes.
No victims were injured in the incident. - Star
