New Covid-19 cases in double digits for 16th day, total crosses 6k mark with 2 deaths

CORONAVIRUS | For the sixteenth day in a row, the number of new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has remained in double digits.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said as of noon today, 57 new cases have been reported, bringing the total to 6,002.
According to him, 25 of the new cases were imported while 32 were locally transmitted.
Two new deaths were also reported, raising the total to 102.
The new deaths are:
Patient 4,657 (Death 101)
A 64-year-old Malaysian man with a history of blood cancer. He had a history of close contact with Patient 4,476 from the Bali cluster.
He was treated at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, Pahang on April 12 and died at 4.14pm yesterday.
Patient 5,282 (Death 102)
A 72-year-old Malaysian man, with a history of hypertension. He was treated at the Sarawak General Hospital on April 16 and died at 12.55pm today.
Meanwhile, 84 patients have been cured and discharged bringing the total recoveries to 4,171 or 69.5 percent of total cases.
Overall, the number of active cases is 1,729.
Of the active cases, 36 are in ICU, of which 14 need ventilators.
In the enhanced movement control order areas, 10 new cases were reported in Selayang Baru, four around the Selayang wholesale market and one new case in Kampung Sungai Lui.
