The National Security Council (NSC) has issued guidelines for lawmakers making public appearances during the movement control order (MCO) period, which includes advice on sharing photographs.
While stressing that lawmakers should only be allowed to move about with a maximum entourage of two, they are not allowed to upload photographs on social media which can cause "keresahan rakyat" (public unease).
They are also barred from holding press conferences, making speeches, wearing personal protection equipment (PPE), organising large gatherings and giving handshakes.
The lawmakers will be only allowed to monitor living conditions within their constituencies and hand out welfare aid.
Each programme cannot exceed 60 minutes and they are "encouraged" to limit it to 10 minutes.
Lawmakers are also instructed to maintain social distancing of at least one metre, maintain proper hygiene and wear a face mask if they are sick.
The instructions were prepared by the NSC and communicated by chief administrator of Parliament Kamis Samin in a letter dated yesterday.
Previously, there was outrage over social media posts by ruling coalition politicians who were either not maintaining social distancing or wearing PPE unnecessarily.

One well-known incident involved Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin (above) who donned protective overalls with the word "minister" on her forehead during a disinfection exercise.
Zuraida was criticised for expending protective equipment for a publicity stunt.
Another well-publicised incident involved Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali breaching social distancing requirement when he attended a lunch in Lenggong, Perak.
Noor Azmi has since apologised for the incident. - Mkini
