The Bernama board of governors has decided to end the contract of its chief executive officer, Nurini Kassim, effective May 16.
Board chairperson Suhaimi Sulaiman said in a meeting today, the board also decided that editor-in-chief Mokhtar Hussain will be interim CEO.
"It is normal for any business organisation to continue finding the right professional leader to make the organisation strong," Suhaimi said in a statement.
Suhaimi, 57, who has vast experience in broadcasting and journalism, is a former CEO and editor-in-chief of TV news channel Astro Awani.
Nurini (photo) was appointed CEO on Jan 2, last year. - Bernama
