Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin has joined the chorus of people criticising Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali for flouting the movement control order (MCO) by visiting a tahfiz school and having a meal in a gathering.
“I do not understand. If I want to say not smart, I should not, but if people say ‘bangang’ (stupid), maybe yes.
“Every day we say do not hold gatherings, do not eat in gatherings, do not leave the house but he still did it anyway.
“Confirm ‘bangang’,” Bung, who is the Sabah Umno chief, said in a posting on Twitter this morning.
He was responding to a netizen who had tagged him in one of the viral posts showing Noor Azmi handing out goods at a tahfiz school and later having a meal with a group of about 20 people.
“YB, give us your comment a bit,” the netizen had asked.
Noor Azmi, who is also the Bersatu Bagan Serai MP and several other Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders have been facing brickbats from all quarters since screenshots of them publicly flouting the MCO went viral on social media.
Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has since said that no one is above the law when asked about these incidents.
“No one is above the law, that is fundamental.
“I have been made to understand that police reports have been lodged. Therefore, we will leave it to the police to take action,” he said yesterday.
Bung is not the first within the PN coalition to slam Noor Azmi's visit. Yesterday, Umno vice-president Khaled Nordin had also criticised the visit and implied that he should resign over this matter. - Mkini
