Malaysian Hairdressing Association Press Release

During the implementation of the restrictive movement control order in Malaysia, all hair salon businesses are not recommended to resume operations.

Therefore, the Malaysian Hairdressing Association has conducted a questionnaire survey. Statistics show that 91% of hairdressers do not agree that the hair salon should resume business during this period.

The points listed below are mainly to protect the safety of all hairdressers, customers, and all family and friends involved.

1. It is impossible to maintain a distance of 1 meter during haircutting. Both the customer and the hairdresser are in a state of being easily infected by the virus.

2. Haircut should not be listed as a necessary essential service, no matter long hair or short hair, the most important thing for now is to stay alive

The purpose of the restrictive of movement control order is to save people's lives, not their appearance.

3. The haircut service cannot be resumed during the critical period because there is a high  chance of spreading the virus infection.

4. It may add unnecessary trouble to the police, and there will be more people on the road going out for haircuts. At the same time, this might allow the robberies to take advantage, hair salons might be their target.

5. This action might be added as one larger source of virus transmission.

6. It may cause the restriction of movement control order to extend again.

7. If the virus is spread in the hairdressing industry, this will harm the customers' confidence  level towards the hairdressing industry in the future.

Therefore, Malaysian Hairdressing Association .. .calls on the government to .. revoke the permit for hair salons to resume business during this critical period.

My comments :

Bravo Hairdressers Association.

I think after THREE weeks some of the Ministers realised that their hair is getting longer. They figured out the easiest solution - tell the barbers to open shop.

Obviously, very obviously there was no other thought process involved.

Just like minum air suam, ke sini ke sana tik tok video, kita akan mengkaji air jamban, yang akan mati Covid ONE PERCENT sahaja  and all the other crap that is coming out of the Ministers.

Anyway here is a suggested solution ??

And the DG of Health also says the same thing :
