KL completely under Covid-19 red zone with Cheras inclusion

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | The whole of Kuala Lumpur is now under the red zone for Covid-19 positive cases, with the inclusion of the capital's Cheras district becoming the 18th district to be classified as a red zone after recording a total of 44 confirmed cases.
In a posting on its official Facebook page late this morning, the Health Ministry said that Cheras has become the 18th district in the country to be labelled as a red zone as at 12pm on April 5.
The posting is accompanied with two coloured maps of Malaysia showing the breakdown of red zone areas throughout the country.
One of the maps showed all four districts of Kuala Lumpur as red zones, namely Cheras, Kepong, Lembah Pantai, and Titiwangsa.
“The breakdown of cases in accordance to state and district as of 12pm, April 5, there is an addition of red zone area, which is Cheras, taking the total to 18 districts.
“Staying at home and social distancing are able to break the chain of Covid-19 infection,” the ministry said.
Previously, Cheras was designated as an orange zone (below red zone) with 38 positive cases as of April 4.
Yesterday in accordance to figures released much earlier, the ministry’s National Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) reported one red zone location in Kuala Lumpur and another two in Selangor which recorded more than 300 positive cases of Covid-19 each.
In a statement posted on the Telegram application, the CPRC also said that the number of red zones identified was at 17 districts as of earlier yesterday. - Mkini
